I wanted to take the opportunity to show our appreciation for the phenomenal job done by Lucy Clark, our Realtor. My wife, Denise, and I originally listed our home in Lutz, Florida in October 2005. As our luck would have it, the Tampa Bay area real estate market was showing serious signs of overheating, and we felt the effects of it. Eighteen months plus, and four realtors later, we decided to listen to a good friends advice, and hire Lucy as our agent. It was the best decision we could have made!
Inside of two weeks, we had two offers come in on the same weekend (to this point, we had not received a single offer, and very limited traffic through our home) to contemplate. Lucy gave us the pros and cons of both, but was professional to the point of explaining that it was ultimately our decision. As it turns out, we made the right decision to go with the prospective buyer from out-of-state. Lucy was very proactive with the buyer´s agent, and was very concise on setting expectations for completion of certain items throughout the inspection and appraisal process. Due to her strong network of professional contacts, we hired a fantastic handy-man company to correct "to-do´ items from the inspection report. At this point a smooth closing on August 1st was expected. However, this is where Lucy showed why she is the consummate professional.
Twenty-four hours prior to our closing, we were notified that our buyer´s lender was heading into insolvency, which ultimately led to bankruptcy. This company was a NYSE traded firm, and most definitely not a sub-prime lender. Lucy tirelessly worked with the buyer´s agent, title company, underwriters, and alternative lenders, to the point that our buyer (thankfully whom had a sterling loan application) had a new loan in underwriting in less than 30 hours from the time of our bad news. We closed on August 2nd. I consider what happened to us nothing short of a miracle, and Lucy Clark was so very instrumental in seeing this to completion. The stress of moving 1000 miles away, and knowing we had a closing on our new home in less than 48 hours from the time of our original closing in Florida, would have been overwhelming. Lucy made it her mission to get our home sold, and get our family on our way to our new home in Indiana.
We have nothing but the greatest admiration for Lucy and what she did for us. Should you be considering a change in your realtor listing or are looking to list your home for the first time, I would strongly encourage you to give Lucy Clark the opportunity to work for you. We certainly are glad we did.

Being on the buyer side of a transaction when you are a Realtor is very interesting! I was very frustrated when I started out, as I couldn't find anyone who would "follow up" -- until we met you!
